A hop and a skip from Noosa – In fact a simple ferry ride across and you are there. Easy enough for a day trip, but there are plenty places to stay on the island. You can camp on the beach or 2/ 3 star hotel. If you are lucky you might even see a dingo 
. Beautiful salt and fresh water lakes ( see photos ). For the daring there are 4 x 4 adventure tours all over the island.
Just a quick holiday accross the water. A bit cool, not really sunny weather – but beautifull and awesome wine.
Had to do some work in Perth – Popped over to Freo ( Fremantle ) for the weekend and jumped the ferry to Rottnest Island for the day. What a beautiful place. Bike ride around the island and jump in for a snorkel anywhere you want. Some good surfing and nice sea food.
We planned this one for almost a year. Friends and family from all over joined in. We stayed in the small town Jindabyne below the mountains in a very basic but comfortable lodge called the Jindabyne Inn. Wood fire at night in the big lounge with a nice bottle of red. During the day we made day trips up to the two sky resorts. Can you think of a better way to spend your birth day
