I’m sure you have all heard the good news by now. But before you jump to the pictures let me paint the picture.

We woke up to a wonderful summers morning on Saturday and did our usual Saturday morning ritual. Got the wheelchair out, wheeled downstairs to the car and did a slow relaxing cruise down to the beach. There we did the wheelchair shuffle down the esplanade and got a nice spot in the shade. Had some coffee and my favorite breakfast, toasted special from Sea Change. It was a awesome sunny day.

Went home and Anne-Marie chilled on the couch while I did some painting. Made us dinner and I went to go play some poker with the boys at Werner’s place. Luckily something told me not to drink that night because I got THE CALL from Anne at about 10 pm.

Raced home, did the wheelchair thing again – getting good at this now, to get down to the car and took a safe but fast trip to the hospital.

When we arrived they expected us and already new us by name, as you know it’s been LONG pregnancy :-) . The on-duty nurse had a quick look and said that Anne-Marie’s water had broken and that the game was on.

30 Min later we were in the theater and Jake was born at 10:58 pm. I must say I take my hat off to Anne-Marie – She got the very unexpected news that it was going to happen NOW ! and went though the whole thing full of trust, without any fear – I’ll never forget I could hear the doctor trying to make conversation, obviously to calm her down and in typical Anne-Marie fashion she cut him short mid sentance and said “common – I’m ready !”

Anyway – I’ll stop blabbing – I am sure there will still be plenty chapters in this Jake book.
