Fraser Island
A hop and a skip from Noosa - In fact a simple ferry ride across and you are there. Easy enough for a day trip, but there are plenty places to stay on the island. You can camp on the beach or 2/ 3 star hotel. If you are lucky you might even see a dingo :-). Beautiful salt and fresh water lakes ( see photos ). For the daring there are 4 x 4 adventure tours all over the island.
